A free exhibition at Warcop, Appleby, Kirkby Thore, Penrith and Carlisle will show hundreds of items found in excavations which started last year.

27th October 2026 - 1st November 2026’Halloween Open Day in support of the preservation of Brampton Old Church, first mentioned in 1169 and wonderfully sited in the Roman Stanegate fort at Old Brampton. Talks by local historians Dr Maks Loth-Hill and David Moorat and a graveyard tour by genealogist Brittany Warren. Saturday 31 October 3:00 - 5:00pm at the Old Church outside Brampton. Costumes encouraged."
